| Our Special Memories | While we spent many hours socializing with friends, playing pool, eating out, and generally enjoying many recreational activities together throughout the early years of our friendship, we developed a special bond during the weekend afternoons we spent at the beach. No matter how many days, weeks, months, or even years between the times we shared together through the years, we always knew there was something very special about our friendship. Looking back, we recall most of our friends predicting we would end up together. They were right! And though we have always been close, we are especially connected when we are enjoying the sand and sea in the sun. |
| Our Plans | We plan to eventually head toward the West Coast, possibly settling somewhere in Arizona for awhile, then hopefully enjoy our days traveling as much as possible. We are both certain we will need some boats, more bikes, lots of vintage cars, and probably an RV. |
| How We Met | We met by accident in a parking lot outside a favorite happy-hour spot for Virginia Beach locals. We later discovered we had mutual friends inside. After running into each other numerous times, we exchanged numbers, and an amazing friendship developed. As the years passed, we came in and out of each other's lives, but our friendship only grew stronger with every passing year. After not seeing each for nearly two years, we ran into each other again at a flea market, vowed to stay in touch, and later took our friendship to the next level. Shortly after we started dating, we knew we could never again be apart. |
| Other things we want our family & friends to know | As much as we would have absolutely LOVED to have a huge wedding and invite all of our friends and family to celebrate with us, we just could not find a way to accommodate all of the unique situations that we faced. For instance, nearly all of Charles' family is in Guam and Palau, and most of his friends are on the West Coast. Leà's family is spread out all over the United States as are most of her friends. Plus, we just did not have enough time to plan out all of the details. As Billy Crystal famously said (When Harry Met Sally), "...when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible"; and that is exactly how we feel. So, when Charles popped the question on Valentine's Day, Leà booked a private ceremony for just the bride and groom on the first nice day available at a private beach along the Chesapeake Bay. And the rest will be history as our beautiful future unfolds. |
